用作副詞的little修飾比較級(jí)：

　　副詞little修飾比較級(jí)時(shí)，主要用于修飾better和more。little better的意思是“好不了多少”，相當(dāng)于not much better；little more (than)的意思是“只”“只不過”。如：

　　His second suggestion was little better than his first. 他的第二條建議比第一條好不了多少。

　　His legs were in little better shape than they had been the year before. 他的雙腿與前一年相比沒有多少好轉(zhuǎn)。

　　He was little more than a child when his father died. 他父親去世時(shí)，他差不多還是個(gè)孩子。

　　Aid to the Third World is at present little more than a drop in the ocean. 目前對第三世界的援助不過是杯水車薪。
